Mumbai, Oct 12 (IANS) Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is known for coming out with blockbusters during the Diwali-Eid festival period.
In 2004, he took on Shah Rukh Khan’s “Veer-Zaara” with “Aitraaz” and continued the trend last year by beating Salman Khan’s “Kyon Ki” with “Garam Masala”.
This year, it’s a clash between Shah Rukh’s “Don” and Akshay’s “Jaan-e-Mann”. Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of the Akshay-starrer, is confident about the film and its prospects.
Trade pundits have already declared it a winner with the record- breaking distribution deals and the high decibel buzz about the film.
Looks like Akshay might be on a hat-trick this year.
Ameesha back in the big league
Ameesha Patel will star opposite box-office favourite Akshay Kumar in T-series’ forthcoming venture.
The untitled film, to be directed by Priyadarshan, will also see Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan playing important roles.
Ameesha hasn’t had any big hit lately and is looking forward to this project.
“I have always held Priyadarshan in the highest esteem. I was looking forward to working with him. And this exciting project is a realisation of my wish-list,” said Ameesha.
Ameesha, who has been very selective in choosing roles, has reportedly signed another big banner film and is expected to make an announcement soon.

Manish Malhotra designs new look for Celina
Bollywood’s most sought after dress designer Manish Malhotra has created an exquisite collection for actress Celina Jaitley for her upcoming “Shakalaka Boom Boom”.
Celina, who has been experimenting with her look for the different roles she is playing in “Shakalaka Boom Boom” and “Apna Sapna Money Money”, is raving about the clothes designed by Manish.
“Manish is simply fabulous. He has designed some mind-boggling clothes for me in ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’ that is in sync with my character, which is high flying and high profile,” said Celina.
“He has dressed me up like a goddess in the film. I’m eternally thankful to him.”
It’s not surprising that Celina is so vocal about Manish’s skills, instrumental in giving a fresh look to many actresses, including Karishma and Kareena Kapoor.
Celina plays a con artist who uses her sensuality to manipulate people in “Apna Sapna Money Money” and says she was inspired by certain nuances of Sridevi’s character in “Chaalbaaz”.
She plays the role of a high profile celebrity publicist in “Shakalaka Boom Boom”.
