Mumbai, (IANS) Top directors and actors choose their five favourite films of 2006.
1. Kalpana Lajmi: Lajmi, who directed Sushmita Sen starrer “Chingaari”, picks up “Dor”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Being Cyrus”, “Omkara” and “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” as her favourite five films.
2.Sanjay Gupta: Gupta’s list include “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Omkara”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Dor” and “Khosla Ka Ghosla”.
3. Rakeysh Mehra: The filmmaker liked “Little Miss Sunshine”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Volver”, “Krrish” and “The Departed”. “And if I’m allowed my own movie, then ‘Krrish’ would be replaced by ‘Rang De Basanti’”, said Mehra.
4. Shabana Azmi: The veteran actress’ five favourites are – “Rang De Basanti”, “Omkara”, “Dor”, “Krissh” and “Don” (not necessarily in that order).
5. Saajid Khan: TV host-turned director Khan’s choicest films of the year are – “Casino Royale”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Jaan-e-Mann”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” and “World Trade Centre”.
7. Govind Nihalani: Nihalani’s list has “Rang De Basanti”, “Dor”, “Happy Feet 4″, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” and “Omkara”.
8. Priyanka Chopra: Priyank picks up “Krrish”, “Don”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Rang De Basanti” and “Gangster – A Love Story” as her favourite films.
9. Hema Malini: The dream girl’s list constitutes “Omkara”, “Lage Raho… Munna Bhai” and “Water”… that’s it!
10. Rituparno Ghosh: The Bengali director favourite films are “Dor”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Yun Hota To Kya Hota”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” and “Khosla Ka Ghosla”.
11. Shiney Ahuja: “Rang De Basanti”, “Lage Raho… Munna Bhai”, “Gangster – A Love Story”, “Woh Lamhe” and “Omkara” are the actor’s most enjoyable films of 2006.
12. Arshad Warsi: Funny man Arshad enjoyed watching “Rang De Basanti”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Omkara”, “Golmaal” and “Kabul Express”.
13. Nikhil Advani: On Advani’s list are “Rang De Basanti”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Dor”, “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” and “Khosla Ka Ghosla”.
14. Sudhir Mishra: Mishra’s favourite five are “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Omkara”, “Khosla Ka Ghosla” and “Dor”
15. Rahul Bose: Rahul’s list is different from the rest – he didn’t like any Bollywood offerings – He lists Pedro Almodavar’s “Volver”, Pedro Gonzalez Innaritu’s “Babel”, David Cronenberg’s “History Of Violence”, Terence Malik’s “A New World” and Alexander Payne’s “Sideways” as his favourite films.
