Bollywood more important for Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai has landed back on home soil after spending some time in Hollywood and the doe-eyed beauty has her hands full with Bollywood and Hollywood offers. She is truly the one Indian actress who has the most impressive resume of international work. Her films “Last Legion” and “Provoked” will be released this year and then there is talk of a Hollywood film with Will Smith. Ash thinks it will be fun working with Will Smith. She is pretty excited about the script as well. Her other Hollywood ventures include a film “Chaos” with the legendary Meryl Streep. This film is a remake of a French film. Then there is “Singularity” to be directed by Roland Joff. Among her Bollywood releases, Ash has a few biggies including “Guru” directed by Mani Ratnam, “Dhoom 2” by Sanjay Gadhvi and “Sarkar 2” by Ram Gopal Varma. The biggest of them all is of course, J.P Dutta’s opus “Umrao Jaan” where Ash reprises the role played by Rekha in the original.

Akshay kumar is facing a dilemma. The actor is bored with his look and decided to go in for something different. Working towards this, the actor is surrently working out at the gym to losse weight and is also in talks with his stylist friends for this new look. “I am bored, and if I am bored with my face, imagine what the audience must be facing?” says akshay kumar. Apparently, he wants to get back to the lean look; the way he looked when he entered the industry. “I want to go back to my lean physique, probably leaner than my Khiladi phase,” he says. The actor had put on weight in the last two years and wants to put a check on it before it gets out of control. “I am basically a fit guy, but sometimes you put on weight. I have been seeing myself on screen and I have realised that I need to shed six to eight kilos of weight. The reafter I will look much fitter.

With Diwali earlier and Eid yesterday, I am still in celebration mode,” says Arshad Warsi, grinning. What made the day really special this time around was the time spent with his family. “I have a lot of new projects in hand till the next one-and-half years. It would be very tiring. So, these few moments with my faily become really important for me. I am very lucky that my family – my wife Maria and my son Zeke – have been very sopportive and understanding. I just run back home after my shoots to spend time with them. My son is just two years old. I just love when he comes up to me early in the morning and says ‘Good Morning dadda’,”.

Gulshan Grover as Mogambo in Mr India 2

Amitabh Bachchan is getting ready to once again immortalise the role of Gabbar Singh and now we hear Boney Kappor is planning to remake their hit film Mr India 2 with Anil Kapoor playing the lead role. But the highlight of the filmwill be the role of the legendary Mogambo played by Amrish Puri earlier. The buzz is that the kapoors want bollywood’s veteran actor Gulshan Grover to play the role immortalised by Amrish Puri. And though the whole thing is being planned in a hush-hush manner, it’s learnt that Gulshan had a series of meetings with the makers and he is likely to clinch the role sonner or later. Vidya Balan’s foot problem

Hrithik Roshan gets injured

It was not long ago that Hrithik Roshan survived a fatal accident while shooting for Krrish.
And now reports are that Hrithik again got injured this time taking riding lessons.Hrithik fell from a horse and was injured during riding lessons for his role in Ashutosh Gowarikar ’s historical Jodha Akbar that also stars the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai .
The incident occurred recently at the Mahalaxmi racecourse.
Hrithik received some bruises on his arms as the horse dragged him for some distance before he could set himself free.
However, Hrithik not only resumed his practice but attended his sword-fighting training the same day after taking first aid.
Hrithik is gearing up for his next release Dhoom 2 , in which he plays a negative role.

Wedding bells ring for Sonia Agarwal

And now, it is Sonia Agarwal who has decided to take the matrimonial plunge, according to the grapevine.
Saucy Sonia will marry her mentor and director Selvaraghavan in Chennai on December 15, it is learnt.
Accordingly, Sonia has started refusing fresh offers. The buzz has it that she has also returned the advance amount to director Jeeva for the flick, ‘July Katru’.
Her latest movie, ‘Thiruttupayale’, according to trade circles, is doing extremely well.

Remember Zeenat Aman’s Lady Diana hairtstyle in Chandra Barot’s Don? That was actually a wig. Zeenat with her multi-shift schedule could hardly afford to cut her hair . Continuity was always a problem in the way of credibility for the superstars of yesteryears. When Rajesh Khanna had to sport a beard for his fugitive’s role in Yash Chopra’s Ittefaq, he appeared simultaneously in more than half of Raj Khosla’s Do Raaste with a beard—quite unnecessarily out of character.
Now , of course stars have more freedom. Sighs Priyanka, “I did Don at a stretch…and boy do I feel stretched! I’ve never felt better. The amount I’ve worked-out in the last one month I’ve made up for my whole life. The stint with the trainer in England has done me a wealth of good. In fact one reason why I stayed in a separate hotel away from the rest of the crew for Dharmesh Darshan’s Aap Ki Khatir is because my hotel had a gym in it. I feel fit and fine. I had never seen the inside of a gym. But now I intend to work-our regularly….for at least four months. We’ll see after that. See, my metabolism doesn’t allow me to lose or gain weight drastically.”
Priyanka had to put on weight for Rakesh Roshan’s Krissh. “My director Rakesh Roshan decided that my character musn’t be skinny. So I worked on putting on weight. And then I immediately had to reduce my weight for Don.”
Things are working out quite regularly for Piyanka. She got herself a new hairstyle exclusively for Don. “It went with the look that Farhan Akhtar and I decided for my character. Roma is a fighter. But she never loses her femininity. So I shortened my hair by about three inches , given myself a completely different look.”

Amrita to do a towel dance

Amrita Arora who was a resident of Andheri had now moved to Bandra. “It’s a dream house. And my parents have shifted with me. Everyone dreams of owning a house that would be just perfect. I’ve reached that dream, I guess.”
With the shift of residence she’s now a stone’s away from her sister Malaika. “So we are all at a shouting distance from one another,” Amrita shouts from Prague. She’s extremely excited about having signed on a remake of the 1973 hit Victoria 203 where she gets to play Saira Banu’s role. “I’m very excited because a lot of people feel I resemble Saira Banuji. In half the film I get to masquerade as a man. And yes I’ll be doing Sairaji’s sizzling towel dance in Victoria 203,” laughs Amrita.
In the original Saira Banu had brought the house down doing the sensuous dance number Thodasa Thehro. It remains to be seen whether the re-makers – producer Kamal Sadanah and director Ananth Mahadevan retain the original Lata Mangeshkar track.
After Priyanka Chopra in Don and Aishwarya Rai in Umrao Jaan who have been given the thankless task of re-doing roles immortalized by Zeenat Aman and Rekha, respectively, it’s petite Amrita’s turn to do a Saira Banu. “Please don’t scare me. Comparisons are so paralyzing.”

John Abraham in No Smoking

John Abraham will play the lead role in Anurag Kashyap’s film No Smoking. According to reports, the film centers around a character played by John who is a chain smoker and wants to quit smoking when his marriage is in trouble because of his addiction to cigarettes.
And according to the grapevine, John has agreed to do a nude scene in the film as well. To be produced by Kumar Mangat who produced Omkara, the film is Anurag Kashyap’s fourth film. His earlier films Paanch and Black Friday were mired in controversy and were never released. His third film Gulal too is stuck.
Here is hoping that Anurag is fourth time lucky and No Smoking does not get sucked into any controversy.
